Napili Bay Beach
Napili Beach is a favorite for Maui locals and tourist alike for for snorkeling, swimming and sunbathing. Located on the northwest side of Maui, this beautiful crescent shaped bay's main attraction is the beautiful golden sand and shimmering crystal clear water. The summer months are best for enjoying a relaxing swim or gazing at the Green Hawaiian Sea Turtles below when the water is clear.
The ocean bottom is sandy, but quickly drops to overhead depths, which cause powerful shorebreaks when the surf is up, usually in the winter months. The activity quickly changes from swimming and snorkeling to bodyboarders and surfers during this time.
Napili is always filled with lots of activity. There are several hotels and vacation rentals close by which can become a little congested for those seeking serenity. The upside is, shopping, food and beverages are just off the beach. If you are looking for seclusion and tranquillity you might have better luck at Makena State Park Beaches
Directions: You can reach Napili Bay by two public beach accesses. One at the south end of the bay at Napili Place. The other access point is near the middle of the bay at Hui Drive. Parking is limited at both locations. You may park next door at Kapalua Bay which has a parking lot and walk to Napili Bay via a shoreline pathway. There’s also a bathroom and showers near the Kapalua parking lot.
