Kapalua Bay, Maui
Voted #3 Best Beach by Dr. Beach-2016
Kapalua Bay offers a sheltered sanctuary protected by two reefs that extend out on both ends forming a C-shaped cove making it ideal for families, snorkeling, swimming, and working on that golden Hawaiian tan. Kapalua Beach is a nice crescent of golden sand lined with palm trees and arguably one of the prettiest beaches on Maui.
Kapalua Bay gained worldwide attention by being ranked “America’s Best Beach” in 1991. Although it is one of the most popular tourist beaches, there still seems to be room for everyone. This is a great place to kick back relax and spend a day. Perfect for families, and there is even a little bit of shade if you sit on the grass just off the beach. On the South end of the beach there are stairs heading up to bathrooms and showers to get the sand off.
Located near Kapalua Bay Hotel in Kapalua. From Hwy. 30 turn left (toward the ocean) on Napilihau Street (near Napili Plaza). The road will come to a T at Lower Honoapiilani Road where will turn right. Proceed about one mile to Napili Kai Beach Club where you will turn left at a Shoreline Access sign where you can park and then walk through a tunnel to the beach. The ocean will literally be a few feet from your beach towel.
