When to Visit

The best time to visit the Virgin Islands is April to June with temperatures ranging from the mid-70’s to high 80’s. The temperature ranges from the mid-70s to high 80s. The tourist season slows down a bit and you can expect mild weather and very little rainfall. Temperatures increase to the mid-80’s from July to October which is the region's hurricane season. December to March is peak season for the USVI. Hotel and occupancy rates are higher and more difficult to book.

 

Tip: St. Thomas Carnival (April-May) can make booking a little more challenging so plan ahead.

Transportation

The Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) is located about six miles southwest of Christiansted on St. Croix. Currently, the airport is served by two major domestic carriers and daily inter-island flights. Be sure to check vacation packages as you may get a better deal by booking air and hotel together. You will also need a rental car on the island if you plan to do any sightseeing.
